Should I be worried about any further action about DUI?
Last night, I went to make a beer run in my car and walked into a conveniance store and accidentally dropped a bottle of beer and it broke, then the store clerk thought I was wasted drunk, then while heading on my way back home, the police pulled me over and caught me still being somewhat drunk from the beers I had earlier, but instead of arresting me for DUI, they simply had me leave my car on the side of the road and walk home, so I did and the next morning, I came back and pick my car up. Should I be worried about any further action or am I ok? They didn?t give me a citation or arrested me or nothing like that.

No your fine. You got really lucky. I mean I will let people go for small things like talking on their cell phones or running a stop sign. But I never ever ever ever let anyone go on DUI’s. Ive seen to many accidents and have lost too many friends because of it.

You got really lucky. Your fine, nothing else will happen.
Mike | Feb 05, 2010

If you were arrested you would know it, especially for DUI. Your drivers license is taken by the police and automatically suspended for 30 days. No citation or ticket means your in the clear. A perfect example of how police are not so bad after all.
Mountain | Feb 05, 2010

You got lucky. You see for a DUI there needs to be a breathalyzer or a blood test the night of the DUI. If they didn’t test you there is nothing to worry about because it’s too late to prove it. What is the cop going to do? Walk into the courtroom and say you were drunk? that will never work without proof.
Vad | Feb 05, 2010

No, you got very lucky and take it as a very good lesson learned. You have a nice, forgiving police force where you are. Be sure and send at minimum of a $25 donation to their family fund. The DUI would have cost you much, much more.
Gapatti | Feb 05, 2010

I like how you don;t mention "somewhat drunk from the beers I had earlier" until the middle of the question.

"Should I be worried about any further action or am I ok?"

Doesn’t seem likely. However, if you repeat that behavior and god forbid get into an accident, there’s a possibility that someone might remember you as wasted, and might also remember that cops were involved. Those cops could be the ones who’ve got worrying to do.

Most likely you won’t have any worries because…you’ll probably not have survived whatever accident you cause.

I hope you enjoy the beer.

if you were in Az the Mormon cops would have stuffed and cuffed and made you join their church-
after they made you feel like the lowest of low on the planet- don’t donate to the cops-they are making a kajillion dollars on people who have 2 beers on their way home form work costing about a years pay-
donate to a food bank

oh choosing for 1 and 2 was difficult!

Though my personal preferences are:

American Beauty
(I am also very fond of Good Will Hunting, but I’ve watched and enjoyed AB in so many circumstances both with different friends and alone. I guess the reception context is influencing my decision)

Superbad
(Though I love Napoleon Dynamite, it’s just in a different way, and I really have to be in a specific mood to enjoy it, and it’s not as consumable as Superbad, which is can watch at just about any time)

Breakfast Club
(However comparing a drama with a comedy is bound to get varied results. I just love how quotable Breakfast Club is, with its soundtrack and the character John Bender)

Never fully watched Uncle Buck or Home Alone, so no opinions on that one.

Dark Knight-
Both TDK and Batman Begins achieved the dark atmosphere and depth of character as intended by the original comic book, which I don’t think the original Batman films accomplished.

Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead-
Classic. Christina Applegate’s eyebrows alone win me over.

Harry Potter-
(both the first Twilight Book- FIRST being the operative word- and the whole Harry Potter Book Series are amazing, but when adapted to film, I’ve found that only Harry Potter has translated to a good standard.)

6. "I hope in no place so unsanctifie,/ where such as thou may’st find him," replies Lady Macduff without a thought for her life.

What could this dream possibly mean?!?
Okay so a few nights ago, I had this really weird dream.. I won’t tell you all the details because I can fairly interpret what the other things mean, but the end is really confusing. So here goes. Sorry, if it’s a bit long. I remember every detail.

In the end of this dream/series of dreams, I walk to the house I grew up in. And my parents are in the drive way screaming, and crying for help. So naturally, I ask them what the problem was.. And they say "The monster! We have to stop him." I look up into the window that overlooks the driveway, and there is like this tremer/werewolf/basilisk kinda monster. (Yes that is the best way I can describe it- bear with me).
So, naturally, I have an axe in my hand- but like an epic axe (if you google "Buffy’s axe" it’s almost exactly the same as mine). And I have this idea that if I jump up towards the window, the monster will extend it’s head enough so that I can chop straight through it’s neck.. So I try this a bunch of times, unsuccessfully.
Finally, I decide that I have to jump higher to get closer to the monster, so it can catch my scent, and come out of the window. This way I can battle it one on one. At this point, I somehow jump high enough to almost touch this second-story window, and in mid-air I become extremely terrified, and subsequently throw up on myself!
The monster catches the sent of my vomit, and begins descending from the window, and I run to hide behind some tree. And as the monster slithers past the tree I jump out and chop its head off with my axe. Then to make sure it’s dead, I begin hacking it into pieces.. And it goes back to its "orginal form" – the bottom half being my dog, and the other half being my "dream brother." This guy is not actually my brother, and really wasn’t in my dream either, but from what I interpret, we were really close. ( I have to clarify this because the dream then gets a bit erotic).
So after words, I walk up the steps of my old home, and say something like "I lost my dog for this?!" And then I go up into my bedroom, which is actually a bathroom, with huge windows covered by Morrocan-like curtains. And I draw a bath.
As I’m soaking in this giant bathtub, the "brother" appears right before me, in the blink of an eye. And he is totally naked. He’s really pale, dark red- shaved hair.. And he has scars over his shoulders from where I hacked him into pieces. I was like crazy attracted to him though.

This part, I’ll try to keep as G rated as possible:

So he’s there, in my bathroom, and he comes over to me. I start looking around for something to kill him with, like a knife or something. But there is nothing there. So I am just shaking and terrified, sure that he is going to kill me. But instead he comes over, and spreads my legs saying "I did it all wrong last time- Satan told me what I have to do." then proceeds to kneel down.. My eyes get wide, and he says "Don’t be scared. I won’t bite." And proceeds to perfrom oral sex on me.
Then he stops, and climbs up towards my face. At this point, he begins having intercourse with me. All the while, I say nothing to stop it. Eventually I say something along the lines of "how are you here? I chopped your head off!" And he snaps his fingers, and his head is gone.. Then his fingers snap again, and it’s back, and he’s laughing.
At this point, his friend(someone I’ve never met in real life or dream life) walks into the room.. And the guy I’m with hides under the water. I tell the friend to leave. When he’s gone, the Antichrist[I tried to refrain from using this description, but it's the distinct impression I recieved] reappears, and says "they can’t know I’m here" And I ask why? He says "Because you took my head off with an axe!" Again, with the snap of his fingers, it’s gone and back again, and now we’re both laughing as he says "I think I look better without it anyway."

Now, note, in my dream, I am now completely in love with the "Antichrist."

So I ask him why he came back anyway, and he goes on that he and I have a destiny together, and that we’re meant to be with one another. And he says to me, "you will rule over villages" while he rules the world. And I said "this means you’re going to be the father of my children" And he nods his head, and smiles.. But this time he has like vampire fangs, and his eyes are glowing bright green, circled but this deep crimson red around the eye-color-part( ?)

And there’s now a mob outside my door, because the friend guy from earlier got all suspicious. So the "antichrist" says to me "I have to go, but I’ll be with you soon" or something to that affect..

Then he leans in- finishes- and effectually impregnates me, says "I love you", gives me this really passionate amazing kiss, and dissappears. I then walk out of the room, and into a dorm room, where all these girls ask if I’m okay- to which I say yes, and rub my belly. Then I wake up.

To me, this is just really weird- also since then I’ve
It cut off the end, but I said that I’ve been having dreams about being pregnant, and giving birth since this dream.. And in all of them I don’t love my babies because they’re evil/really annoying! Haha. I just don’t see how being in love with the antichrist, after killing him, and then having his children make any sense to my life. Hahah!

It may mean that your dream consciousness is making up for your lack of interesting or meaningful life. Don’t take that as an opinion, but honestly sometimes life can get so pointless and repetitive that our subconscious provides something radical to make up for this lack of excitement.

how far pregnant am i?
im trying to understand this..
okay so im 10 weeks pregnant, does this mean that the baby is only 8 weeks, cause don’t they add 2 weeks because of your pregnancy?
Or would i be 12 weeks, and the baby is 10 weeks? I just know my ultrasound tech said i was nine week last week.
And i didnt have a period, i had just gotten my mirena out on dec 10th. So are they counting back to Dec 1st, Cause i think i ovulated on dec 15th. Thanks :)

If they say you are 10 weeeks pregnant (already counting 2 weeks before period), your baby is 8 weeks old.
Tu | Feb 08, 2010

it can go 2 weeks either way. did you get a due date? however this can change as well. when i first found out i was pregnant, i got a date of dec. 31st, then on my last ultrasound they said according to his head measurement i was due dec. 1st. so then they just decided i was due the 15th. CRAZY!! i had my son dec. 22. it’s confusing, doctor can give you better answer in a few months! congrats!!

you are 10 weeks pregnant. Which means your baby is approx at weeks gestation. An average pregnancy is 38 weeks from conception so docs always add another 2 weeks as they presume you ovulate and concieve 14 days into your cycle. Presuming you have an average 28 day cycle. Go by your scan dates hun, they are very reliable at this stage of pregnancy. Which means you will be due to deliver in another 30 weeks.

"None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free"?
Do you agree with this quote. Why do Americans think that it is an impossibility to have our civil liberties stripped away and have this nation be turned into a totalitarian, censored, s*ithole? We can see it everyday with the passing of the "Patriot Act" which gives the government the right to spy on us, read our emails, and listen to our phone conversations. How does no one realize that not giving "terrorists" fair trials is wrong. The government can just accuse anyone of being a terrorist and then arrest them for life and not give them a trial. Do none of you see the fact that this could be exploited and that this may turn into a Salem Witch trial? Our polices commit ILLEGAL searches after pulling people over who they see as being "suspicious." Wasn’t America founded on the principle that the government should be weak and that people should have freedom. Video taping people, searching people’s personal possessions (with no probable cause), and assuming people guilty until proven innocent is something that Masters do to their slaves isn’t it? Slaves aren’t supposed to have weapons or knowledge because it might be used against their masters. Slaves are supposed to be monitored so they don’t misbehave. Am I the only one that is seeing this? For those of you who have read the book or seen the movie "The Running Man," doesn’t our society seem strikingly similar to that one? People are blinded and obsessed with mindless media sensations and sports like the Superbowl, Tiger Woods, and the death of Michael Jackson. This is what ancient Rome did, right? They gave the people gladiator fights, chariot races, and all the pleasures they could so the people didn’t realize what the leaders they "elected" were doing all around them? You don’t think the Germans in Nazi Germany just decided to massacre the Jews. Through propaganda and media Hitler was able to demonize the enemies, just like we are doing to the Islamic Arabs. You honestly don’t think that the United States military, probably the most advanced fighting force in the world, can take untrained people with AK-47s living in caves? Every totalitarian state needs an enemy so that they can take away people’s civil liberties. They do this because we are asking them to do this. Our irrational, government-caused, fear of terrorism has blinded us. See the truth of what is going on here. Those people who follow all these rules and live "nice" lives are the same type of people who listened to all of Adolf Hitler’s laws and became good little Nazis in the Third Reich. These problems will only get bigger and bigger until the government has complete control over our lives. We don’t need these laws protecting us from terrorism. We don’t need an army of National guards protecting us. We only need basic law enforcement, but the government wants the control and power over us.

The government wants mindless idiots who only watch television, watch the news, and listen to the radio. Without education and intellectual conversation, we lose the ability to resist and ultimately see the truth and become enlightened. See the men behind the curtains. American politics is a joke, our leaders are predetermined by those people who have the money and are willing to donate to a politicians campaign fund. The richest people pick the leaders because they can pick who they donate to and ultimately who has a chance of winning.

I’m sorry if I rambled, but I felt the need.

Didn’t have to read past the title. 100% agree. Welcome to America, and all it’s BS lies and greed.

Vietnam War movie survey! Who's down?
Rank these Vietnam war movies from best to worst

Apocalypse Now
Platoon
The Deer Hunter
Full Metal Jacket

1. Apocalypse Now – in my opinion one of the greatest films ever made, let alone about Vietnam. Superb cinematography, acting and a host of memorable scenes on the madness of war. Coppola’s very own journey into the "Heart of Darkness", the events surrounding the making of this film are as interesting as the film itself. I hated the Redux version though.

2. Platoon – great action-packed movie with stunning shots.

3. Full Metal Jacket – though it is a long time since I have seen this film and it was only the once.

4. The Deer Hunter – A great cast. I like the beginning of this film, but it’s a very flawed piece. It all gets very implausable once the trio get to Vietnam. The Russian Roulette scenes are very well done though and are very intense. A suspension of reality is required for the events surrounding them though.

Both of these pursuits are somehow connected to God, who may or may not be a stick figure, and Baxter’s lesbian roommate, who may or may not be imaginary. Employing live action, animation, and experimental story techniques to explore existential, professional, and sexual crisis, ORGIES AND THE MEANING OF LIFE promises to be one of the more unique movie going experiences you will ever have.

What do you think of this explanation of Islamic terrorist situation?
This is by far the best explanation of the Muslim terrorist situation I have ever read. His references to past history are accurate and clear. Not long, easy to understand, and well worth the read. The author of this email is said to be Dr. Emanuel Tanay, a well known and well respected psychiatrist.

A German’s View on Islam
A man, whose family was German aristocracy prior to World War II, owned a number of large industries and estates. When asked how many German people were true Nazis, the answer he gave can guide our attitude toward fanaticism. ‘Very few people were true Nazis,’ he said, ‘but many enjoyed the return of German pride, and many more were too busy to care. I was one of those who just thought the Nazis were a bunch of fools. So, the majority just sat back and let it all happen. Then, before we knew it, they owned us, and we had lost control, and the end of the world had come. My family lost everything. I ended up in a concentration camp and the Allies destroyed my factories.’
We are told again and again by ‘experts’ and ‘talking heads’ that Islam is the religion of peace, and that the vast majority of Muslims just want to live in peace. Although this unqualified assertion may be true, it is entirely irrelevant. It is meaningless fluff, meant to make us feel better, and meant to somehow diminish the spectra of fanatics rampaging across the globe in the name of Islam.
The fact is that the fanatics rule Islam at this moment in history. It is the fanatics who march. It is the fanatics who wage any one of 50 shooting wars worldwide. It is the fanatics who systematically slaughter Christian or tribal groups throughout Africa and are gradually taking over the entire continent in an Islamic wave. It is the fanatics who bomb, behead, murder, or honor-kill. It is the fanatics who take over mosque after mosque. It is the fanatics who zealously spread the stoning and hanging of rape victims and homosexuals. It is the fanatics who teach their young to kill and to become suicide bombers.
The hard quantifiable fact is that the peaceful majority, the ’silent majority,’ is cowed and extraneous.
Communist Russia was comprised of Russians who just wanted to live in peace, yet the Russian Communists were responsible for the murder of about 20 million people. The peaceful majority were irrelevant.
China’s huge population was peaceful as well, but Chinese Communists managed to kill a staggering 70 million people.
The average Japanese individual prior to World War II was not a warmongering sadist. Yet, Japan murdered and slaughtered its way across South East Asia in an orgy of killing that included the systematic murder of 12 million Chinese civilians; most killed by sword, shovel, and bayonet.
And, who can forget Rwanda , which collapsed into butchery. Could it not be said that the majority of Rwandans were ‘peace loving’?
History lessons are often incredibly simple and blunt, yet for all our powers of reason we often miss the most basic and uncomplicated of points: Peace-loving Muslims have been made irrelevant by their silence. Peace-loving Muslims will become our enemy if they don’t speak up, because like my friend from Germany , they will awaken one day and find that the fanatics own them, and the end of their world will have begun.
Peace-loving Germans,Japanese,Chinese,Russians, Rwandans, Serbs, Afghans, Iraqis, Palestinians, Somalis, Nigerians, Algerians, and many others have died because the peaceful majority did not speak up until it was too late.
As for us who watch it all unfold, we must pay attention to the only group that counts; the fanatics who threaten our way of life.

Do you find any truth to this? What are your thoughts?

Emanuel Tanay, M.D.

I guess because i’m older(69) and have been a arduous reader of History i totally agree with the article. But i think from the majority of answers you’ve got even tho a extremely small percentage of people it does show you by their answers How all Dictators are able to grasp there power. From a religious point it also shows and gives one a idea of how the Biblical mark of the beast would be so easily done. Sad but some day these words Historical effect will come back to taunt those who have once again fallen into the web of freedoms lost and could even be the victims of the next group that some ruler feels should be eliminated.

Islam is about 1300 years old. Think about what Christianity was doing when it was 1300 years old. Jews and heretics being tortured, mutilated, murdered, the Crusades, all that stuff. Your religion is no different.

Sure, you can explain it all away with "they weren’t true Christians." I bet in 700 years Muslims will use the same excuse.

It is not about islam, or terrorists, nazis or communists. It is about Fear.

The fearful will always kill because they are afraid.

i would agree, but im not entirely convinced that the nazi story is true

the internet is full of these kind of stories from ‘doctors’ and ‘insiders’.

I don’t agree. The majority are "silent" because they don’t give a sh** about these sorts of things and have their own lives to worry about, it just seems that the "fanatics" are the relevant ones because they are the ones on the news. He’s also being naive, in my country all these "religious fanatics" are actually the people the "silent majority" rely on for cocaine, nothing religious about most of them from what I’ve seen.

He brings up the Rwandan genocide, but seems to be unaware that Muslim communities stood together regardless of if they were Hutu or Tutsi, and even protected non-Muslims when able. Should we hold all the Christians worldwide responsible for the acts of the some Hutu Christian? No. Nor am I going to demand that every Muslim has to constantly apologize for things they don’t do.

I dislike all muslims, peace loving or not. I will not patronize one of their business or go to doctor who is one. I dislike them that much. Some christians tend to irritate me but I don’t dislike christians, mormons, JW’s, jews or any of the others. Just muslims and this incident at Fort Hood did not help my attitude any at all.

By the way, it was a good read. thanks for sharing.

I think it is the way of the militant Koran and
very likely the end of Western civilization.

This is true, and people have been warned and they are not listening! I have the facts right here. This is true. People don’t listen.
